OVERVIEW

Ian is GHP Law Firm’s Of Counsel in our Intellectual Property practice group, and is a skilled lawyer and intellectual property (IP) consultant who assists clients with IP filing strategies, prosecution, and enforcement, as well as a range of contentious and non-contentious IP matters, such as trademarks, patents, copyrights, and designs. In addition to IP, Ian also advises clients on litigation, alternative dispute resolution, company compliance, M&A, foreign investment, project financing, and debt restructuring. His clients come from various industries, including pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, IT, engineering, e-commerce, food and beverages, fashion, music, film, and cosmetics.

Ian has notable experience representing well-known trademarks in cancellation and deletion cases, as well as representing Indonesian government agencies in a judicial review against the Anti Money Laundering Law. He has also advised and represented major companies and subsidiaries in various IP matters, and has experience in M&A, including the acquisition of a large TV cable and broadband internet company in Indonesia. In addition, Ian has advised a Hong Kong-based bank on a $1 billion project financing in Indonesia.

Ian holds a LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from Queensland University of Technology and the World Intellectual Property Organization, a LL.M. in Trade, Investment, and Competition Law from Universitas Pelita Harapan and the World Trade Institute at the University of Bern, and a LL.B. in Law from Universitas Indonesia. He is registered as an IP consultant with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Indonesia, and is an advocate and administrator/receiver with the Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI) and Ikatan Kurator dan Pengurus Indonesia (IKAPI), respectively.
